Warranty & care

1Hardware warranty

Each component of your monitor is covered by a warranty suited to its nature and use. Here is the detail, item by item.

👜
Bagheera case
10-year warranty

100 % French manufacture by Bagheera, a specialist in professional bags. Ultra-resistant materials, reinforced stitching, YKK zips. The warranty covers manufacturing defects, tears and premature wear.

📦
VitalX chassis
10-year warranty

Printed in high-strength technical composite, built to withstand intensive handling. The warranty covers cracks, breakages and structural defects. Not covered: prolonged heat exposure (> 50 °C) and thermal deformation.

📱
New iPads supplied
Apple 1-year warranty

Standard one-year Apple manufacturer's warranty, extendable with AppleCare+ purchased separately. It covers material and manufacturing defects; accidental damage (drops, liquids) requires AppleCare+.

♻️
Refurbished iPads
1-year warranty

Refurbished iPads included in some packs are covered by a 12-month warranty from the refurbisher, covering material and functional defects excluding accidental breakage. Contact us first: we coordinate the claim.

💻
Software licence
Lifetime licence

VitalX licence included for life with your pack, with no subscription or renewal. Automatic updates included, plus access to new features and scenarios added regularly.

🔌
Accessories & consumables
1-year warranty

NIBP cuff, SpO₂ sensor, 12-lead ECG cable, EtCO₂ sensor, temperature probe and pads are guaranteed 1 year against manufacturing defects. Because they are consumables, normal wear (pads, adhesives, membranes, abrasion) is not covered.

Warranty procedure

If you have a hardware problem, write to vitalxscope@gmail.com stating your order number, a detailed description of the issue and photos of the product concerned. Reply within 24 to 48 working hours.

2Care & cleaning

Regular care keeps your equipment performing well for longer.

Good practice

  • Clean the chassis and case with a slightly damp microfibre cloth, using lukewarm water only
  • Use a gentle antibacterial spray to disinfect the iPad touchscreens
  • Store the cables in their compartment after each use to avoid tangles
  • Regularly check the condition of the USB-C connectors and clean them gently
  • Store the monitor in a dry, temperate place, ideally between 15 and 25 °C
  • Visually inspect the chassis before each session to spot any crack

Absolutely avoid

  • Never use solvents, pure alcohol, acetone or abrasive products
  • Avoid direct, prolonged exposure to sunlight (risk of discolouration)
  • Do not expose the equipment to extreme temperatures (below −10 °C or above 50 °C)
  • Never open or dismantle the chassis (immediate loss of warranty)
  • Avoid bending or twisting the cables excessively (risk of internal breakage)

Warranty exclusions

  • Damage caused by misuse or failure to follow the instructions
  • Exposure to liquids (water, coffee, excess disinfectant…)
  • Drops, heavy impacts or abnormal mechanical stress
  • Unauthorised modifications, repairs or interventions
  • Normal wear from intensive use (surface scratches, slight discolouration)
  • Damage caused by incompatible third-party accessories

Field tip

After each session, let the iPads cool down for 5 minutes before putting them away. This extends battery life and prevents heat build-up inside the chassis.

3Usage tips

Twelve habits to get the most out of your monitor in session.

1
🔋 Power management

Charge the iPads to 100 % before each session. For sessions over 4 hours, keep them plugged in. iOS low power mode maximises battery life.

2
📡 Optimal connectivity

Use a dedicated Wi-Fi network or create a mobile hotspot to avoid interference. Recommended distance: 10 metres maximum.

3
🔢 Session code

Always check that the monitor and the trainer station show the same code before starting. If they lose sync, restart the app on both devices.

4
⏱️ Automation

Schedule automatic blood pressure readings every 5 minutes for a realistic feel. Configurable alarms (SpO₂, HR, BP) create dynamic scenarios.

5
📊 Full display

Display 12-lead ECG, SpO₂, EtCO₂, capnography and all vital parameters at once. Ideal for advanced training.

6
🚨 Alarm monitoring

Set the alarm thresholds to match the learners' level and watch the notifications: low battery, abnormal vitals, arrhythmias.

7
🎯 Teaching scenarios

Build progressive cases: stable state → deterioration → intervention → improvement. Save your favourite scenarios to reuse them.

8
🐛 Reporting bugs

Use the Report a bug button built into the app. Specify the steps to reproduce, the expected behaviour, and attach screenshots.

9
🔄 Updates

Check for updates every month: new scenarios, fixes, interface improvements and new features based on your feedback.

10
📚 Continuing education

Browse the documentation and video tutorials to discover the advanced features: AED, complex ECGs, rare conditions, expert modes.

11
🎬 Session debriefs

Note the learners' reaction times and the points to improve, then share your feedback to enrich the scenario library.

12
🌡️ Optimal conditions

Use the monitor in a temperate environment (15–30 °C). Avoid rooms in full sunlight, which causes screen glare.
